Most accurate Semi-Auto 223 Non-Restricted

Id buy the MV to fill the NR expensive AR role. Which means id expect it to shoot around 1 moa with handloads/factory ammo that it liked..... for long range coyote/target shooting, BUT yet, this being the catch, id also expect it to shoot cheaper more affordable ammo so i could use it in competition shooting/training, or just normal plinking. I personally dont think its worth the $3-4000 dollar price tag if it cant meet BOTH of those needs.

Thats why im mostly leaning towards an ACR. potentially an XCR but ive yet to find any proof of them reaching my accuracy expectations
Possibly a Swiss arms now with their price coming down.
Maybe an SL8 IF i could get past how uncomfortable the gun is.

Dont worry, Rick is just throwing caution in the wind so you don't expect surplus to work. He did not say new manufacture bulk would not.

well JP the ross rifle was pretty damn accurate, probably one of the most accurate rifles ever made, and well it lost interest really quickly.
Im willing to sacrifice accuracy if it means the rifke feeds, fires, ejects and repeats 99.99% of the time.

I dont judge anybody choice for their rifle, i am only stating the way i see it...

Many rifles have crossed my path, the ones that are up there i keep, the others just move to another home...
I have kept both my FNAR and my KAC SR15 but i have part with my AR-10T / Bushmaster AR-10/ DD MK 18 /... My only consideration is still those 3 letters M O A...

I keep a few rifles for soul, aka SA NM M1A... JP.

I had a HK sl8 with a g36 conversion kit that was very impressive never went to the range but blasted many coyote's at beyond 275-325 yards maybe more , we had a blind that looked like a round hay bale a caller and a remote twitch rabbit , we positioned the blind on a rise higher ground this is southern SK , I made some very very amazing shots with the Sl8 collected some bounty for my efforts .
The SL8 was the most accurate .223 Rifle I have ever shot as far as a semi auto .223 I don't think you will find a better rifle , that being said I purchased the Rifle from a member here who did a whole lot of work on it and than sold it to another member when I left SK :(
The Sl8 is way more comfortable with the g36 set up Ar15 mag well etc its heavy but once you get used to shooting it you will love it , I shot a stock Sl8 at the range and it was not nearly as comfortable .
Bushy

Sooo if you put a heavier trigger in the MV, would you say it will cycle Wolf, Norinco, MFS, Barnual etc. ?? or at least some of them ?

Yes if a 7 to 10 lb trigger were used and a much sloppier chamber was cut the rifle would then be capable of cycling any crap a person chose to send down range.
It seems rather silly to me however that anyone would want to purchase an expensive precision rifle and then totally defeat all the potential precision 1 is paying for by significantly downgrading the trigger pull. Crap ammo will always reduce reliability and in any gun.

I am afraid I just don't see the logic in purchasing a Ferrari and then installing low quality bias ply tires on it because they are cheaper, it sort of defeats the whole purpose of the investment.

We have run thousands of rounds of "cheap" American Eagle bulk and Fiocchi bulk ammo through our MH and MV rifles with no problem.
We are NOT saying only Gold Medal match ammo is recommended, just not some of the true military surplus that is coming from offshore that is known to have the hard primers that is required in machine gun ammo or that is corrosive.
So to spell it out. Pretty much anything commercially made such as Federal, Lake City, IVI, IMI, Winchester, Remington, Fiocchi, Lapua, Black Hills, Hornady, Arizona Ammo, Ruag, Hirtenberger, Norinco, PMC and some others I have missed should shoot reliably.
IF there is no makers name on the headstamp, just a year and a couple of letters it likely won't fire reliably.

I read a few references to the cost of Swiss Arms coming down. Really? Did I miss something in the distribution of new manufactured Swiss Arms. Or is this reference to the existing ones losing value due to the past BS with the Feds prohibiting them and then de-prohibiting them making people worried about a further prohibition. It has not had any $ value difference at our end as a good used Swiss Arms priced at $2500 or a little more will sell very fast in our store. It might be a regional thing but we don't see it at our location. Phil.

That's good news to hear, that's all I'd expect.

I think these references are to the cost of the Swiss right after the prohibition ended to now. The absolute cheapest one I saw then was $3k, now I am seeing them on the EE for high 2k's.

^ and there is a high likelihood that they will be re-banned, along with the 858.
The Liberals have promised to overturn C-42.
Could end up being a $3500 conversation piece.

If they come after the SAs and 858s again, you can bet they are going to come after the classifications of all semi-auto rifles.
They will not be making the mistake of selecting named models to an OIC like last time. People really need to wrap their brains around this Liebral majority.

Meh, I sold all my restricteds when that tool got elected. Keeping the Vz tho... lol... Im also worried about whats gonna happen in the future.

Go ahead, bury your head further into the sand.

Sometimes this forum is like dealing with children who stick their fingers in their ears.d:h::HR:

You may be absolutely right that they are going to come after all semi auto's. But it is still speculation, unless you have something concrete to go on, whereas the Swiss and CZ are specifically named in C42, so if they go after that, you know that the CZ and Swiss will be affected.

Saying that doesn't mean his head is in the sand.

So are you starting a Militia or something? I'm waiting to hear about your solution.
I'll assume you've already joined and donated to the CCFR and CSSA.

Cheers. Not everyone here is an Alarmist.

I hope they do. It will lay bare their true colours on the issue. And it will be the end of the Liberal Party as an electable group.
