In fact, there is a steal of a deal on the EE for a Fortner 1727 in .17HMR right now. Fortners are really about action speed than ultimate accuracy. They are so fun and fast to load.

I would like to get a Rem 40x repeater it would look good next to my current 40x, but from what ive read there were only around 700 made and are going for 5000 plus in the us.

DONT waste your money on a lithgow purchased one and a buddy bought one triggers are terrible needed lots of dialing just to get average results the Savage rimfire would easily out perform it for a lot less.
Marketing is more accurate then there rifles.
My Rem 541s would crank out .1s and .2s just remember it’s still the Cracker Jack behind the trigger.

If you can find one, my 40x repeater will shoot the lights out and easily keep up with the very highest-end factory benchrest rigs. They are truly amazing rifles, too bad that the Remington Custom Shop stopped making them.

Those 40x repeaters are going for an arm and a leg state side , rumor is there was only 700 made.

I would like to have one someday but they are out of my price range.

My vote is for the Winchester 52 Sporter reproductions. I’ve yet to try it with premium target ammo, but these groups at 25 and 50 meters are with Eley HV HP hunting ammo. Plenty accurate for my hunting purposes.

Good luck finding a 40x sporter repeater, they are extremely rare, and were selling for $5000 US and more in recent years.

That Rem 40XR Sporter is really nice to see here in the Northern hemisphere
I have Sako's, Winchester 52's and CZ's, but my old Cooper model 36 custom classic is my best 50m rifle, due to its custom Shilen rifle barrel that was put on at the factory. I shot a 250 -- 15X :)
