Most Beautiful Looking Handgun?

There are some truly beautiful guns being posted here. But that being said, I think some of you mis-read the thread's title... You are supposed to post pics of guns that you consider to be "beautiful" that is to say aesthetically pleasing. Some of you have simply posted pics of your favorite guns with no genuine regard to their aesthetic qualities... I mean, come on, there is no way on earth that anyone in their right mind could call an HK Mark 23 a "beautiful" gun! It's f**king hideous! :D Sure, it's built like a tank, it may shoot well and you may love it for whatever reason.... but there's no way you can justify categorizing it as beautiful! ;) :D:D That's just plain wrong...

I am perfectly aware of what "beautiful" means, and I do think my Mark 23 is "aesthetically pleasing" to my eye. I'm looking at all these revolvers on here and I have to admit that there is nothing beautiful about a revolver to me.

I was under the assumption that the topic of this thread was "Most Beautiful Looking Handgun in our personal opinion?" I wasn't aware that there was a correct answer to the question.

Some people think that pistols with custom engraving are absolutely gorgeous, I think they are the tackiest thing I've ever seen.

I see a lot of guns that I would call ugly in this thread but I'm not going to criticize someone's personal opinion or taste in pistols. I like to see the pictures and get a sense of what other people find "Beautiful".

Hi Keller: Take my post as the good natured ribbing that it was intended to be. :) Sorry, I didn't mean to put you on the defensive. I was just razzing you. Of course everyone has different tastes and each person here has a different idea of what makes a gun "beautiful" based on whatever criteria they decided was appropriate... I guess I should have used more smileys to make sure that my post came across as intended.

That being said, the Mark 23 is still one damn ugly gun! :p :D:D:D

It's all good. I'm still going to disagree with you on the Mark 23 though. ;)

I took it personally because you directly referenced my choice; it was almost like you called my girlfriend ugly. Haha!

I hate quoting pics but wandered through every post and this was the one that caught my eye. Minus the print on the slide, I really like the looks.

Thanks for this, krausb, because I've tried to get people to post comments and pictures on beautiful guns -- that was the point of my starting this whole thread. Some people muddle beauty and functionality. Beauty may not be functional, and functionality may not be beautiful (for guns that is, no comment on anything else!). That said, I'm not going to judge anyone's post :p and thank goodness diversity of opinion is alive and kicking in this world, otherwise it would be a boring place.

I may try to select five or so different but popular posts and run a poll just to see what happens. Then again I don't find I often agree with the Miss World or Miss Universe judges!!

Finally, just to illustrate someting of unquestionable beauty, enjoy drooling over this. One of 36 ever built, now worth ~$30M (or about 85,000 Norinco 1911's -- our other little interaction! :stirthepot2:)

People see beauty differently to me my 4.25" SRH is the most beautiful gun I have ever seen why do you ask... I used it to stop 2 bear attacks and I have slept soundly for weeks at a time in remote solo camps knowing that I had it with me none of those pretty little toys you guys call beautiful could do what it does ever...

Too me, the webley, the C956 mauser and the P08 Luger are beautiful. Much better looking then the Glock and it's clones!!

I'll try this once more. The point of my original post in starting this was aesthetic beauty. I'm sure there are many handgun owners out there who have very good reasons to be emotionally and or pragmatically fond of their guns, but this shouldn't be confused with aesthetic beauty which has nothing to do with practical reality.

I'd feel the same way as you about your 4.25" SRH if I'd gone through the experience that you have. Indeed it would be very near and dear to my heart and I understand that, but that doesn't necessarily make it beautiful.

What we're talking about here is pure "eye candy" appeal, nothing more, nothing less. I'm tempted to start another forum on "Why I love my gun". Yours would be a great story, as would others I'm sure.

I'll finish with this. My first car (at a time when most of my mates didn't have one) made me very popular with a number of female friends. I remember that car with great fondness, but it's NOT BEAUTIFUL and never will be! See link below to see what I mean!

I'm probably alone on this one but there's something about the Mateba Model 6 Unica auto-revolver that I love.

SVI also makes some beautiful custom 1911s that I could never afford:

Anyway almost all guns are works of art one way or another.
I WANT THEM ALL! :D

Well guys...
I recon most of us here might find it hard to top CC's above comments.

Even if he did not choose a SA revolver. ;)

My eye candy is obviously different than yours to me yours is a useless ugly little toy so I completely agree that you start another thread asking for people to post pics of what only you consider eye candy... :p

:D

I have to ask if that is your first car where are you from...

Not the best of pics but here are my s/a 5.5" consecutive serial #ed Ruger Bisley Vaquero's in 45 Colt with factory black/gray laminate grips these maybe the only 2 in Canada with these grips and yes I carried them in remote wilderness areas as well shot them 9 times to scare off a couple black bears didn't have to kill them...

These are also beautiful too me... :p

You miss the point! I started this some 160 posts and 6000+ views ago as an eye candy contest for handguns. Many of the posts have eye catching ("eye candy") pictures of handguns, some of which I personally like and some of which I don't like as much, just the same way as two guys might differ about the attractiveness of a good-looking lady walking down the street without ever meeting her or knowing her.

Any other input to the judgement of beauty in this set of posts is irrelevant (my guidelines for this forum). Hence, while as I said, I understand why you like your 4.25SRH because of how it got you out of a jam, it doesn't relate to it's beauty. It may or may not be beautiful, but because it got you out of trouble doesn't make it aesthetically beautiful!!

My post of my first car is to illustrate that it was good to me and I have fond memories of it, but it's absolutely NOT beautiful in the defintion of this forum!! So such a car should never be posted in a forum asking for the most beautiful car -- I agree!!! But nor should any gun be posted in this forum unless it's SOLELY based on its aesthetic beauty -- that's the theme of this forum. You want to post for another reason, feel free to start another forum.

Most of us here would be LESS offended if someone called our women ugly vs. one of our firearms! :D
