Most Beautiful Shotgun

McKay Brown gets my vote too. I've handled a couple and they are the best looking guns I've seen and that includes H&H, Purdey and the rest.

Imagine the dew claws of a hunting dog scratching all the way down those stocks. That is why I prefer a synthetic stocked shotgun. Beauty is as beauty does, IMHO. That is why I use shotguns I would not hesitate to use (unloaded, of course) as a canoe paddle in a pinch. Keep the fancy wood for a museum.

Thanks for coming out. Why not just buy some canoe paddles?

The prettiest shotgun I have seen is my old Mossberg 500 AB glistening with dew and sporting some wild rice on a North Western Ontario duck hunt at 6 am.Remember beauty is in the eye of the beholder. ( it does have a walnut stock)

Took me 4 years to find a first year example, unfired, and the price doubled in that time plus a US import.

Ruger's attempt at an affordable sxs was a great although short lived initiative.

IMHO, that amount invested in your GL could've brought in a comparatively superior/nicer quality Basque Game Gun.

Couldn't care less, as I'd choose, and did choose, a Gold Label over an entry level H&H (a Northwood boxlock). The Ruger's slightly lighter, and I prefer its lines. For me, it's beyond a gem, being the first American side by side in ages. Just one of those I had to haves, wanted one since its inception.

I spent the $4,000 difference towards an H&H rifle, and then I hit the best of both worlds.
