Call me Crazy .... but there is part of me that thinks this is a good thing.... and my involvement and risk of losing personal property is NOT at all hypothetical.
If the Op has correct information (and he has been pretty consistently correct to date) .... frankly this means that the CPC can not simply coast along into the next election sneering to us that they are outraged at the colossal injustice that has been done to us ... they stopped the bleeding by holding their nose with a sketchy Amnesty .... and then head into the 2015 election Promising us to fix everything should we only help make sure Mr.Harper becomes Canada's 5th longest ever serving Prim Ministers (Behind King, Macdonald, Trudeau 1.0, and Laurier) ...... While at the same time running scared that the opposition and MSM will crucify them at the pools if they were to do anything about this colossal injustice just yet.
Mr Harper is my Prime Minister today and he has been for 8+ years already. Sure I and my Family voted for him and he did away with a 2 000 000 boondoggle that was wasteful and ineffective ... but he also sat in the Chair when a Canadian City was ransacked by out National Police Force in the single largest trampling of Charter rights in Canadian history --- and he is sitting in the chair right now when that same national police force created 13 000 Criminals overnight --- a number that approaches or exceeds the number of people incarcerated in Canada right now.
Frankly if the Act, as it is written right now, means that This government with about a 1/4 of their mandate remaining and after 8 years in power, and a majority in both the House and the Senate can't fix this and Do the right by Canadians ..... then they can swing in the wind with the rest of us 13 000 voters who trusted them to do what they said they would do.
And for anyone who would tell me to relax, these guys have our backs and any other party would take away all my guns the moment they were elected --- oh and My personal favourite "Mr.Harper only promised to eliminate the LGR... nothing else" ---
I would simply submit that I am relaxed .... If the CPC want's to be the party that puts an end to this foolishness -- Well they are in power right now -- They should get to work doing just that !! Stop telling me that the dippers or the Libs will take everything away and Keeping the CPC in power is the only way to fight these people off .......
Look, This Government can't even keep the property and Charter Rights of it's citizens safe During a Natural disaster an example so repugnant I still have a hard time believing it happened (perhaps because the lot of them have been silent as church mice since it did .... unless they were directing us to contact the Alberta Government).
They also were blindsided by a bureaucracy for something many many people on here and in the Media knew was coming last year .... and they were so well prepared for it, and were so on the ball that their solution hastily crafted over the weekend and submitted before the Lawyers (who likely didn't get into this till Monday) even told them it would work. So they've been there for 8 years and never prepared for this contingency at all and certainly never considered fixing C-68 either.
At the start of this I said part of me thinks this may be a good thing .... and by that all I mean is that it's opened my eyes. JT might want my guns .... but these guys said they didn't while a frighteningly large number of firearms were and are being rounded up on their watch.
Imagine if you will what Mr.Harper and all the CPC members would be howling right now if they were in opposition and this was happening ?
