Most durable 9mm?

Seriously there are numerous quality handguns out there, all of which will perform admirably if you do your part and show them some TLC from time to time. Everybody has an opinion on which is best mostly based on info obtained on the internet..known for its highly reliable and truthful statements:rolleyes:. Personal opinion would say both the SIG and the Glock have excellent track records, documented, but I would tend to lean a bit towards the Glock:stirthepot2:.. Keep in mind that you never know when a mechanical part will fail so the fact that it can sit in salt water or be frozen in a block of ice, gravel bathed, or dropped from a helicopter means nothing when you simply have a part break for no apparent reason.

But that being said, Glocks are damn tough pistols at a very reasonable price and are worth every cent. Everyone should own at least one Glock.

And if you can only own one Glock it should be a G17:cool: Almost every firearm out there is at it's best when in the original configuration and the G17 was designed around the 9x19 - every other Glock except the 19 has been an compromise of sorts...

I'm a huge Glock fan and they are one of the toughest and best....but....

This will be a tough pill for some to swallow: The Dept. of Homeland Security Tests showed that only the Sig and HK were able to finish. All others, including Glock, broke, fell apart and were unable to finish. It was one of the most expensive and comprehensive tests in the last 20 years or so.

Sig all the way, followed by HK. I still love Glock.

While personally, I love the CZ's and the BHP MkIII, I was a certified Glock armourer for several years..... I'd have to give it to the Glock 17 9mm for relative durability.

I've got about 10,000 rounds through my G17 and it functions just as good as it did brand new. It shows nearly no wear whatsoever which I find incredible.
 
I know that some instructors at the National Police Institute in Quebec put the Glock 17 through a lot of abuse, including driving over one with a delivery truck while submerged in a puddle of water, and it still fired straight. Shooting instructor also claims to have recorded 190 000 rounds fired through one without ever cleaning it.

Bottom line is, Glock.
