Most expensive thing lost hunting

My friend lost his new $600 Leica rangefinder on his his first trip (this September) with it. Never even tryied it on an animal. I still can feel his pain...

I lost my dad's stag handle skinning knife. It wasn't worth that much in dollars, but it was priceless in sentimental value. My grandfather gave it to him when he was a kid, and he gave it to me when I was 13. All I have now is the sheath.

All I've manged so far is a few hot seats.
My brother lost a mag for his BAR. Funny as hell, he shot a deer, and many trees, many times with the 270, changed mags, let the first one fall. ( out of six shots, he hit it once) He didn't move far, but he never found the mag.
At the time they were $45 ea.

He's a great shot on paper, but in the bush ....
good thing he doesn't hunt with us anymore.

Quad broke down on way in to moose camp--couldn't carry all the stuff in one trip on the other quad, got back and found the booze box had been swiped--40 of Bailey's, 2 40's of Rum and a couple bottles of Red wine.

jesus how long was your moosecamp? :S

Overnight. Why do you ask?

LOL :D

A guy at our moose camp lost his brand-new Leupold VX-III (long story, QD mounts involved) in a swamp in Northern Ontario. Five guys and four hours later we gave up on it...

The following year, he came back armed with a $50 metal detector and buzzed it, in a 5" deep puddle, after ten minutes of work...Rings had lost all their blueing but the scope was just fine, he still uses that scope on his Sauer.

SOAB eh! errrrr

Four years ago my son and I went up to our moose camp in late November. We normally park the vehicle and trailer at a safe place at a farmers place but because everything was frozen over we decided to head closer to the camp by vehicle. We managed to get within about a mile of camp and on the way in we managed to shoot a nice young bull moose. Did all the gutting and quartered the moose and left it in the truck box. Went on to the camp and set up. We still had another tag to fill. Next morning I headed back to the truck to check things out. Guess what. Moose was gone, all four tires were gone from the truck. Four tires on trailer were slashed and side of truck was damaged. Lucky we had the quads as it was a 35 mile ride back to civilization. Had to phone brother and a friend to bring us some truck and trailer tires. They came next day. Do not park in the bush anymore. Total cost was somewhere around 4000 bucks.

I might add that todbartel lost his anal virginity one cold, dark night in hunt camp....

How I know? I will not say...:p

Gatehouse has a sasquatch story he wont tell, now this

Now I know why he wont tell either story, Bartel must have been raped by a sasquatch  :runaway:

Or, maybe the sasquatch had permision to enter the forbidden hole, I guess we will never know...

A girlfriend that cost me plenty. She told me if I went to deer camp for two weeks not to come back.Packed all my stuff and left.I did go back a couple years later and started dating her sister to who I am now married to.

When you find my EX,, make sure you keep her!!!! I dont want her back.

That would be like looking for trouble...I don't look for trouble...I look for money...then trouble won't be far behind !
