Most power available in CO2 pistol/rifle

A +500 pistol will require an rpal as far as a tifle goes Hammerli 850 Air Magnum

Sorry, ignored the C02 part, nevermind my advice. Umarex Hammer (50 cal) is probably up there with the most powerful pcp gun. But for general plinking, a pcp gun that you can tune to shoot sub supersonic will have great accuracy and decent power. I have a 22 cal pcp gun (Hatsan AT1022) that I have tuned to around 850 fps with 18 grain ammo and its very accurate, and shoots a great group at 50 yards. Not necessarily recommending Hatsan, but something similar in a pcp repeater is great fun and very useful. I charge mine from a scuba tank. Around 2300-2500 psi fill seems optimal from my testing with my gun.

The Benjamin Discovery PCP is a dual powered (air or CO2) airgun that can use either air or CO2. A CO2 adapter with a paintball CO2 tank fills the rifle's reservoir. Velocities are higher when air is used, but the CO2 produces around 50 shots with velocities between 670 - 690 fps. This rifle is easily available in Canada and requires a PAL.

The Benjamin Challenger is another dual powered airgun.

Also remember that CO2 guns have horrible power curves as the temperature drops. PCP rifles are far less affected by cold temps.

For a pistol you can do some nice build from a Crosman 2240. And even under 500fps you can get great power from a .25 cal !!
