Most reliable rifle? SHTF scenario

I hate to be the one to say it, but shouldn't this post NOT be in the hunting forum???

Otherwise, in all fairness I'll take a .22lr for food, weight, great utility gun.
I'd also take a 12 ga for ammo supply and practical all purpose gun.

Dump the rifle because in a SHTF scenario, self defense is an issue, and if it is soo far away that you need a .300 win mag, better to just leave the area while I still have 1200 yards head start! :) The easiest fights to not die in are the one you don't get into. In any SHTF scenario the first rule is to avoid confrontation. (I looove George Romero!)

I would go with Styer Scout in .308Win.
Jeff Cooper put a lot of heart into that baby.

SHTF IS about hunting just of a different sort. If society did crumble or face an epidemic or shortage of the necessities of life you can be many people would steel from others and worse. Protection would be important but so would real hunting. If one fled to the boonies hunting would be necessary to keep body and soul together. ONe cannot take an armoury along as it would be too heavy and awkward. Four of five guns on foot? I don't think so. What if gas was unobtainable and a vehicle is out of the question?
Thus one or two at the most could be taken if by oneself. But certainly if everyone in one's party carried the same ammunition it would be helpful.
A CZ858 is very light but I would probably leen towards the 30WCF in a lever gun. It doesn't do everything superbly but does everything adequately.
