Most reliable semi in .30-06?

I have never had a problem with my remington 7400 30-06.The thing only thing I dont like about it is you have to let the bolt go right from the end and let it slam hard to load, but have never had a jam with it through probably 500 rounds

One of these days I want to pick up a Belgian-made BAR just to have one. I have shot one before and it was as accurate as anything, and shot like a pussycat.

There is also the Benelli R1 and HK SLB 2000. I noticed last month that one of the CGN sponsors (can't recall which) had a coupe of SLB's in stock, but they sold pretty quickly.

That being said, I'd look hard at the Browning BAR --- lots of folks have them and parts are widely available.

I hear ya. My youngest son had one in 308 and why I didn't jump on it when he decided to sell it, I'll never know! :( I've had a craving for one ever since. Now I'd like to get one of those new fancy Shortrax Bar with the European stock in either 7mm-08 or 308. The LOP on them suits me just fine.

I had a Remington Model 74 (the birch wood and simple finish model) in 30-06. It shot vertical strings no matter what ammo I fed it. Sold it when I got a chance.

Benelli R1, would be one to try out.I did, and Iam glad I did.

Good rifle...So is the BAR..
The Sauer M303 is a very nice looking rifle, as is Verney-Carron's Impact..

Verney-Carron now makes a pump in 7x64, 9,3x62, 270 WSM ,and 7mm Rem.Mag:eek:

The only semi I'm familiar with is the Garand. Does anybody produce a quality, mechanically reliable centerfire 30 Cal in semi?

GO RIDERS!

The Chinese copies of the M-14 in .308Winchester are widely reported to be reliable. There are a lot more people on here saying they are happy with theirs than there are people trying to get rid of them.

7400 Remington, an older model in 30/06, never have had an issue with it at all, cycles no matter what temp or shells you put in and its accurate out to 200 yards... I did hear the newer remington 750's are garbage though, not saying they are or arent just what I heard
