Most silent air rifle

Sorta....the intregrally suppressed (quiet) one is....but you can have a non-suppressed version here....and like any other PCP: loud!

Do they have factory non-supressed version now? I only know one aftermarket guy who modify it, then you end up with a rifle that's $130 more expensive as before and comes with no warranty.

A supressed AIRGUN is illegal? While a supressed AIRSOFT is legal?

I know we're not supposed to try to understand gun laws but...

I like my nitro piston so far. Easy and smooth to #### and shoot and it's pretty quiet but not 70% less then a springer. More like 10%.

My Stoeger X10 (springer) was super loud for the first 2 dozen shots. After 50 it quieted down a lot. I shoot it in my basement alot (town house). Much quieter than a 22. No need for hearing protection.

Keeping in line with the subject of this thread: Most silent air rifle, what is available in Canada that is very quiet and in 22cal, about 800fps mv? Watching Edguns youtube channel is inspiring, and found this British channel today:

I'd like a Matador, but with evil barrel shrouds, is prohibited here. What is the nearest thing to this accurate rifle (or the one in the video) with the above caliber and velocity(with lead pellets) and nearest to that level of silence?

There is nothing legally available here that will throw a 22 pellet at 800fps tat is anywhere NEAR as quiet as that edgun.

I'll say it again: If you want that kind of power but want it QUIET, the only option is a 20" or longer barrelled fixed action (ie: anything but a semi) .22 rifle shooting CB's. What I can't figure out is why people want these high power air guns when a .22 and CB's is:

1. WAY quieter
2. More powerful
3. Cheaper to buy
4. Waaaay less of a PITA to use
5. Subject to the exact same laws and regulations as that 800 FPS air gun

The appeal of the airgun is it is less powerful: I sometimes shoot pigeons and other vermin inside barns, and with the lack of power, pellet guns will not put a pellet through the roof.(and pigeons always perch on the old hay fork tracks, and beams) Other than that I am not disputing the points you make. One other point, not that it matters much is that in the (very) long run, pellet shooting will be cheaper. I have a Crosman spring gun, that is supposed to be a 1100fps .177: Sometimes it achieves that velocity but with a very loud boing/dugggghe sound, (and if the pellet crosses the sound barrier, the sonic crack) but is usually inconvenient to use when I could pop a magazine of CB's in my CZ. My desire is supreme accuracy, silence, and the ability to take vermin up to a 100 yards efficiently.

that's why I ended up selling my tuned Phantom .22(700fps) and 350 Magum .22(900fps)... accuracy with CB's/Subs out of my Savage FV-SR bolt is far better and quitter and easier to shoot (Shorts also work great out of it)
