was introduced to a 30-30 with a Rocky Mountain Ranger Stamp on it...does anyone know of these rifles and what they are about, hesides being a 30-30

The Rocky Mountain Rangers , BC Coastal Rangers etc , were basically home guard in WW2. And I think they were eventually morphed into what is now the Canadian Rangers
a friend of mine had his Grandfather’s ‘94 so stamped .
is there a C/broad arrow cartouche on it as well?

Serial # should start with 133 ###XX. Funny enough, Winchester still does not recognize the 133 serial numbers. These rifles were produced for the Pacific Coast Marine Rangers, and should have 3 “C Broad Arrows” on them. One on the butt stock, one on the forestock, and one on the receiver or barrel.

I had one in excellent shape, sold it for $700. So, yes they are out there. Many folks that have them hold on to them. But they are still not selling for a high value.

There was a Rocky Mountain Elk Foundation commemorative produced in 2006... could this be what you're looking at?

Doubtful. The Rocky Mountain Rangers were basically the same as the Rangers of today in the Arctic. They were a thing during WW2, and were issued win94s.

They are still a thing, a reserve unit based out of Prince George and Kamloops.
