IMHO moose can be even more dangerous than bears. Personal experience that is.

Mother moose kills man attempting to photograph her babies

A female moose attacked and killed a man who was attempting to photograph her calves, according to Alaska officials.

The moose charged at two men who came too close to her offspring in Homer on Sunday morning, Alaska State Troopers said in a statement.

“As they were walking through the brush looking for the moose, that’s when the cow moose attacked,” Austin McDaniel, a spokesperson for the Alaska Department of Public Safety, told the Associated Press on Monday, adding that the moose, who had recently given birth, attacked the men as they were fleeing.

According to the Alaska Department of Fish and Game, more people in Alaska are injured by moose than by bears each year.

Another Darwin success story! Taking stupid people out one at a time!

Regular moose season here in sask used to allow bull or calf. Got bluff charged by cows a couple times, made you nervous dealing up a calf.

"Babies." Let me for a brief moment :) be grumpy internet guy and state that the English language is rich in specific terms for the young of every animal on Earth and that the use of the human term "babies" really annoys me when it's applied to critters. What it is a gooey sentimental attempt by animal rights people to humanize animals, especially food animals, so that they won't be harmed under any circumstances. AND it is also this sort of attitude that leads to the deaths of people who think that a mother moose, one of the most dangerous animals in the wilderness, won't mind a human sneaking up on her calves, so there's another bad effect.

Many years ago when I was a 16 year old cowboy I was riding past a horseshoe shaped bunch of willows and caught a flash of black out the corner of my eye. I stopped and looked and saw a moose calf standing about 60 or 70 feet away and about the same time the cow moose came charging full out around the corner toward me, when she saw us she stopped in her tracks about 20 feet in front of me with her head raised high and fire in her eyes! I don't know who was closer to having a heart attack, me or the horse I was on but the cow swung around and went back the way she came. I was never so glad that I was on a horse and not on foot as I'm sure that the sight of the horse was the only thing that stopped her!

In my 27 years up here I got charged twice by cows protecting there calfs and zero by bears… I think moose cow are more dangerous than the average bear !!

I think any mom with babies regardless of species and size can get a little crazy and unpredictable. I remember recent encounter with a rough grouse mom. I laughed at the time but she was acting extremely disproportionably above her weigh class and was not going to back down until until one of us was going to get messed up, lol.

Get the camera from that Grizzly whisperer guy, for a matching set. Both cameras probably have so ohhhhFeck expressions on the last frames.

I think there was only audio on the Treadwell tape as it was dark during the last supper.

He did answer the best tool for bear defense question, for hippies it is a fry pan...........

I am absolutely surprised this wasn't Algonquin Park.

The number of idiots going in close with a camera to moose along Hwy 60 is staggerring. Sometimes to within just a few feet.

Camera will not protect you. No matter who you voted for!
