Motor Upgrade Possible for RCBS Case Prep Center?

Has anyone undertaken a motor upgrade for the RCBS Case Prep Center? My only significant beef with it is that I can actually stop the motor while reaming out primer pockets. Something a bit more powerful/faster would be useful.

You must be putting a lot of pressure on it to stall.

If its stalling when you're doing primer pockets you're likely binding the case and possibly doing damage to the pocket.
Back off on your grip on the case and just let it spin when it starts getting tight.
Maybe your motor is weaker than mine but I never really thought I needed more horsepower to get the job done.

I use the primer pocket unifier to clean up primer pockets and so far its been great.

If you install a more powerful motor, will the drive system be able to take the extra load?

I went with the advice of some other loaders and bought a CT drill press instead of the RCBS prep centre. I put one tool at a time in it and do all the cases on that step. Then switch to another. I can also drill holes with it.

Primer Pocket Cleaner (I just run uniformer again on fired brass)
Primer Pocket Reamer
Primer Pocket uniformer
Flash hole debur tool
Case neck debur/chamfer tools
Neck Brush


For trimming I had Lyman and RCBS lathe type trimmers and now mostly use a Lee Zip trim and case length gauge. I also chamfer and debur the flash hole on this. This trims to minimum. You will need a lathe type if you want a specific length. I would buy the Forster next time.

U must be putting a HELL of a lot of pressure on it to stall it out , OR you have a bad motor !!!
