Mould and Mould Handle Compatibility

I want to start collecting used equipment to mold cast bullets. Can anyone tell me if Lyman, Lee, RCBS es all molds can be used in each others handles? Anything else I should watch for in used equipment?

Lee handles will fit Lyman 2 cavity molds. You would have to wait for other replies to see if they fit the 4 cavity.

Lee will also fit RCBS molds but you have to do a little filing (or grinding) to fit (the handles, NOT your mold). MUCH cheaper alternative than getting proper RCBS handles.

GO to a place called castboolits and they will help you. I found the site very usefull when I started out casting .

I found I had to take .1-.2mm off the inside edge of Lee handles to make them work with the Lyman 2-cavity I have.

I had to take about double that off the face to make them work with RCBS moulds.

It's still the best way to go, IMHO. I bought 3 sets of Lee handles, one for each brand.

Lyman 4 cavity blocks are thinner thru the mount grooves , and a second to castboolits website !
