I just bought a Tikka T3 Hunter in 6.5x55, accurate as hell. The first group I shot at 100 yards (at only 2.5x) was 5 into .8 with 4 of them touching.

Anyway, the scope I bought with the gun is an Elite 4200 2.5x10x40. When I bought the gun the scope was a bit canted so when I took the scope off fromn the optilok rings there were distinct dents in the bottom of the tube from the bolt that attached the ring to the base. I got new bolts from P&D that don't extend past the bottom of the ring, today I tested the scope and it tracks properly, seems nice and bright, but after 15 shots the scope had moved forward to the eye piece was touching the optilok base which is quite large. I used to have this problem with Optiloks on my Sako rifles and solved it with Burris mounts.

What other options do I have? Anyone with different mounts can you post some pics of them?

Thanks.

Used Leupold #54447 bases, and Burris Signature medium matte rings for this set up on my son-in-law's T3 300 WSM. Leupold VX-II 4x12x40. Haven't had a second's worth of problems over two years. Very strong and tidy.
