Hi everybody,

I finally bought my first rifle and scope in two of our sponsor websites and I just need to wait to get it.

I am trying to select the mounts and rings in the meantime and I am not sure what people on this forum use.

What do you recommend me? I checked leupold and they recommend me QR, STD and DD...but I am not sure what will be my best bet.

Thanks!

Anyway you look at it Talley or Browning Bases and Rings are going to be $$$ especially with the Cerakote option.

Leupold turn in rings and bases is the least $$ option if cash is short after the initial purchase.

What scope you going to put on this new gun.

Oh , congrats and dont forget pictures when you get it all assembled.

Thank you both for your answers!

I will install a VX-5HD 2-10x42mm CDS-ZL2

I will take some pictures when I have everything. It is going to be an interesting experience for sure.

Leupold PRW rings and bases are legit. If you go on Leupolds web sight they have a tool that you can use and you put in your gun and scope and it tells you what rings and bases to get.

He bought like $4000 worth of kit. The difference between Leupold and Browning mounts is at most $50, and both systems are around $100. If "Cash is short" then I can't do anything but shake my head.

Talley Lightweights. Simply the best modern mounting system available for hunting rifles. You can even get them in the Hell's Canyon Cerakote.

Well said...couldn't agree more. They are a fantastic mounting platform. I would hazard to guess in 30mm, the low version would mate up nicely with that scope.

Thank you very much for you answers I will start looking at those Talley. Is there a website you guys like for buying this kind of items?

I suggest you buy a picatinny rail and some rings from ATRS, they are the best mounting system in my opinion, if a bit on the expensive side.
I have an older xbolt in 300wsm and I used to have Talley rings but they needed lapping to be true.
