Mounting a scope on my marlin 60

The problem I'm having is my scope mounts are sliding backwards after maybe 50 shots. Needless to say my accuracy is suffering. I'm pretty sure I have tightened them as much as I should, and the problem still exists. Could it be my rings?

Try using loktite or get new rings

I had the same problem with my 60,loktite fixed it right up.

Hawke makes a rimfire /airgun ring that has a vertical screw in the rear ring.When snugged down on the reciever it stops this movement.Worked on a marlin i had.

I did a bit of reading online, it seems common, and people recommended this.

clear nail polish, loktite, or silicone on the jaws of the rings.

I have burris rimfire rings on my 60 they are tightened to 20 inch pounds and will not move at all.
