I am mounting a new leupold 3x9x50 scope on a ruger ( I think it is a m77 not sure). The bases are a part of the action. I have leupold rings they fit on the bases no problem scope fits on gun great. But the eye relief is off a bit. The scope needs to be slid back about 1/2 to 3/4 of an inch to make eye relief excellent. The old redfield has a long tube which fit fine good eye relief. The Leopold has a shorter tube so the scope has no room to be pulled back and fix the relief. If anyone has any suggestions it would be great. Please note I am not an expert. Thanks
