The long top rail on Robinson m96's have bolts every 4" .What types of optics will mount on these rails.Does anyone have a picture of an optic set up on the rail of and m96 ? Do the elcan or acog fit on .?What types of optic set ups are you guys running on these rifles ? Do people often run set ups with optics that are more expensive than the rifle under them ?I hesitate to send alot on optics on a rifle that will probably run 2 moa .Advise ?

Any optic that mounts of picatinny rail should work. I don't see why the Elcan wouldn't fit.
As for spending money on optics, you could go the cheap route but then you'd be wasting your money. Too many people buy an expensive gun and then cheap out on optics. You get what you pay for.

I had an ELCAN,Aimpoint Comp M2, and Leupold MK 4 mounted on my old M96.
No Problems...........
However you will need a cheekrest and the stock has a low drop to it and that causes issues with getting a decent cheekweld.
I installed a Rooster33 cheekrest and that solved the problem.But it is not a simple bolt on solution.
That is the only pic I can find showing the cheekrest I did.
