mounting scope on a savage 114 magnum

sounds like your issue is that you want your front ring in one specific spot, which is messing up your eye relief.

with your full length picantinny/weaver rail, you can move your rails wherever they need to be to get proper eye relief. Personally, i'm not sure why you dont want to move your front rings if you need to move your scope back for eye relief.

good luck

The front base has 402 stamped on it which is the reference number for base # 48108. The rear base is just a standard weaver base that fits the top of the savage action and has the screw slot between the mounting screw. Rings are the med height grand slams. I'm also left handed although my 114 is right handed. With those rings and bases the scope is the perfect distance from my eye when the gun comes to my shoulder. You might have to move the scope forward or rearward in the rings to get it right but that is the front base you need.
