Mounting scope on SKS!

Are the weaver style dust cover receiver cover style scope mounts the way to go.
They are hit or miss. Somes need fitting but dont really expect much about thoses mount. The best way is a drill and tap mount like Choate or a scout mount like B.C Tactical that replace the rear sight but you will need a red dot scope.

Ya I just read some reviews on it that is probably why people are selling them so cheap on eBay. They must not hold zero. I think I will go for the BC tactical mount with red dot.

This is what i got works ok the screw in receiver type are the most solid but i went with this because i didnt want to bubba the rifle and it removes in a second.
To be honest now that i have some experience with this rifle i enjoy mastering the iron sights and haven't really used it much.

Don't bother with receiver covers......

If you want something reversible then a BC Tactical Scout mount, and a red dot is the way to go hands down.

If you want a scope, then the drill and tap mounts are the only reliable option.

I'm not sure if they are the way to go, but they are very solid(as long as you don't over file the prongs at the front of the cover). I've got mine fitting very tight. There is no movement at all, so considering this there should be no movement. It should not have any trouble holding zero. I also bedded my action. A solid mount means diddly squat if there is movement between the action and stock. Just keep in mind that these type of mounts do require some filing to fit the actual rifle. They are made oversize due to varying tolerances of these rifles.
