any one know where a person can get a replacement screw for a set of burris zee rings?can these bolts/screws be sourced from another source other than burris?what size are the threads on these screws.might just order a set of signiture series zee rings as these rings are 25-26 years old.

I have had excellent service from Burris in regards to getting replacement screws, crossbolts and even scope covers. All I ever did was E-mail them, and they sent replacement parts free to me. It has been a few years since I have requested anything, but they were always super about sending things.....Ken

You want a 6-40 socket head cap screw. The head is generally a 7/64 allen. You want alloy steel as other materials won't be strong enough for the 35 in/lbs of torque. One inch length is a little short (according to the internet). I ordered some 1-1/8 inch from mcmaster carr, although you should note that they don't ship to individuals in Canada. (The machine shop at my place of work ordered them for me.)

The screws work well, and it's a pleasure to tighten the allen head. The 1-1/8 do stick out 0.100". It doesn't look horrible, but I've ordered a screw cutoff jig from brownells to make some with a perfect length.
