Moved from ON to QC, problems renewing RPAL

He'd need his Loi 9 course to join a QC club. Not sure how that may slow things down?

Define cheap. Mine is 100 USD for the family... I've never seen a Canadian club ask that little...
Fernie 80$ CDN for the year, cheaper for individuals and seniors. They have members from all over Canada but most do come for a while in the summer (or winter) and shoot when they are here. I used to have memberships in AB and BC for just this situation but moved here full time, although I'm a life member at Mossleigh now that I think about it. OP if you can use out of province memberships join Fernie. https://www.ferniergc.com/

Has anyone done another challenge in their province using the ontario decision as a precedent?
My nearest range is in the neighbouring province and so thats where I have a membership. When I did my last renewal I did not send my proof of membership and it took quite a long time to get without getting my new one, so I called the CFO office and she approved the renewal on the phone. She never asked for my membership and just said not to take my restricted firearms out until I call in with proof. I never sent it to her that day because when I looked over the membership papers the seller did not sign it.
My home province is Alberta.
All this to say that in Alberta at least, it seems to be up to the agent if they require proof of membership.

I'm a member of 3 of my local clubs in the BC Interior
1 is $100CAD for family, 2 is $110CAD for family, 3 is $140CAD for family

As posted by tbloggins above, Silvercore (BC) is accepted by the AB CFO, not sure about QC. $59CAD

Good day everyone!

As the titles states, my RPAL was due for renewal on July 25th, I applied to renew on June 20th while still living in Ontario. I have since moved to Quebec and my renewal file has been transferred to the QCFO, I got an email stating I need to provide proof of club membership, but my license is technically expired now? What the hell do I do now?
Get the QC CFO to confirm you applied for your RPAL renewal (email) or request for your membership card from them - and provide that to the QC club you have chosen. Club need a RPAL before issuing a card, and the CFO proof of membership before issuing your PAL.
Like who came first - chicken or the egg…

Where are you in QC ? Might be able to help you to find a Club..

It doesn’t make any sense why the licencing and ownership of restricted firearms is managed differently from province to province, there should be the same rules from coast to coast. Although I guess it’s good for the folks in Ontario, if they don’t need a range membership to own a restricted firearm, because a range membership costs me over $200 bucks a year. I would get that RPAL thing sorted out fast though, because if it is expired, the Liberals will gleefully seize your firearms.
