I'd say take the .300hh but with the environment your heading to I might be inclined to keep that rifle in the safety of my parents basement. It's such a beautiful gun I wouldn't want to see it buggered up in those elements. The Stevens 30-06 is a good little all weather gun that will get the job done and the 93x62 is hard enough to handle anything else you might find up in north.

Husky M98 9.3mm, and ATRS 300wm. But without knowing these rifles personally, I'd take the two that have never failed in any conditions be it -50 to+30 or the 2 your most comfortable with. The big bore with irons, for things that go bump in the night. small bore with scope- 300wm will take anything you come across at 500+yards.

I'm kinda stuck on one of these two options.

Just consider what your ammo situation is going to be like up there. If you reload then no biggy. But if you need to or for some unforeseen reason you are forced to buy factory ammo you will be wishing you had the 30/06

Sounds like all you need is your Ruger RSM 416 that would cover most anything in your neck of the woods or might I say tundra as long as you keep it to 250 yards or so.My .02.Mutt.

Tough choices. I think a .300 mag would be extremely useful out there. But I'm more inclined to grab that .257 and maybe the 1895 or the 9.3x62mm. But that H&H would be tough to pass up.

I'd bring the 257 or 25 06 for long range shooting and hunting everything the north has to offer up to caribou, (good for seal, geese, wolves, foxes etc.) and then have the 9,3 with iron sights for bear protection and if you get to go with someone on a whale hunt:)

I hear lots of great things about Kugluktuk and they have really warm weather in the summer compared to other parts of the Arctic. Enjoy!

The votes are in. I've decided to hedge my bets and take both the popular girl and the nerdy chick to the prom. So the winners are:

Stevens 200 in 30-06 for the accuracy and utility (and low cost if it gets ruined)

and

Husqvarna M98 in 9.3x62, because shooting a muskox with it would just feel so right.

Thanks to everyone for playing along!

^^^ ... all bases covered :)

My Husky only holds but the four down, .... that'll just have to do, eh ;)

I'd take these two.

The 30/06 with synthetic stock and scope will serve all around while the 9.3 will get you a heavier bullet option in a lightweight package.
