hi, i buy a brand new savage mk2 ( even if i already say never again bolt action) thumbhole stock.

i can move the barrel with one hand, left to right, it's a free floating barrel. it is normal???

and finally, the barrel is more closer to the left side of the stock than the right, does it affect accuracy??

is a little video

thx

Is it the barrel moving. Or are you moving the stock thinking the barrel is moving? Meaning you grasp the stock and barrel and push with you thumb on the barrel putting pressure on the stock, giving the impression it's moving? I know that sounds complicated but that happened to me with my first every brand new firearm.

How does it shoot? and function?

thats just the stock flexing. my cz452 did that. i was actuly touching on one side at rest.
i took a proper sized socket wraped it in sand paper and worked that out. then i glass bedded it. all good now

Before you worry about it, go shoot it... If it shoots great, then leave it alone. As far as a misaligned stock is concerned... As noted above, it is easy to open up the barrel channel... A hardwood dowel wrapped in sandpaper and about five minutes will fix it.

The gun looks fine, it's you I'm worried about... Does your wife know you take your Savage to bed with you?
