Moving scope from rifle to rifle?

Would it work to get a single quality scope for long range target and use quick connect leupold tactical mounts to move it from one rifle to another?

Does it stay pretty accurate or do you have to adjust zero every time ?

Id like the idea of buying only one long range precision scope and moving it between rifles.... one quality scope for each rifle is alot of money for occasional range shooting..

Would it work? yes. Is it ideal? no.
When you've zeroed your scope, you've zeroed it to that rifle. It may be close but you'll be burning ammo to set it up after every swap.

Is it going to fit both rifles with the same rings? Will it have the correct eye relief and position on both rifles? Is the rail you mount it on standardized so that it will definately remount on the second rifle with the same ring position?
