Moving to the US...

when my brother lived there he was able to get them.
think he just had to show his drivers license or something.
but he was in Texas and it was Walmart so rules might be a little relaxed there.

i still remember the first time he came back home for a visit, he brought me a walmart flyer that had glocks and ARs in it..... on sale.
i cried a little inside.

buying is not a problem, taking possession is ...

Go to the BATFE website for confirmation but the rules for Canadian citizens possessing and acquiring firearms in the United States have changed.
Also the US hunting license requirement for a Form 6NIA is gone.
But as I said don't take my word for it go to the BATFE website and confirm it for yourself.

Every time I've bought a gun in Florida where I currently reside I had to show my Green Card showing US Permanent Residency status...so yes I believe so...

Cheers.

Relish in your good fortune.
Unlike back in the 70s and 80s US green cards are hard to get.
3 years, pass the civics test, take the oath before a US citizenship judge and you're in.
Now you'll have Obumer and the Dems chasing after your guns instead of Turdo 2 and the LPC.
Different schoolyard same fight. ;)
Sure would be nice to have legal CCW and handgun hunting though.
And if you live in the right US jurusdiction no more silly lock boxes and trigger locks.

i ve buy enough guns in USA to know what im talking about ... every seller will take your money and ship to a FFL and then proceed for the import up to your place. so buying is not a problem taking possession is of course a problem ...

it can interesting to explain that the custom officer or state troopers in alaska about the no hunting license requirement ...

Uhm, guys, isn't it illegal for a nonresident alien to be buying guns in the states?

You might be confusing nonresident with nonimmigrant.

You have to be a legal resident of a state and have a hunting licenses but those are the only requirements at a federal level. You can buy guns on any nonimmigrant visa including F1 (student), H1B (work) and TN (certain professions) visas.

Of course various states have different laws on nonimmigrants owning firearms.
