I don't think he asked an unfair question. There's quite a few pistol calibre carbines that are legally allowed to fire 10 rds.

But only if they are using a magazine not designed for it but rather for a pistol, this is a Colt AR... Not calling the question unfair, just straightforward. The Olympic lowers that take Glock mags can use 10 round Glock mags for instance, and storms 10 round beretta mags, but if the magazine ships with either of those rifles and is marked for it, it must be 5 rounds like any semi. :) (I'm sure you're aware, just stating for the record)

Yep 10-4

Koldt,

Nice build, although I prefer the look of the a 10.25" barrel on 9mm. A couple of questions on your rifle;

The buttstock looks to be a mil-spec Colt unit but it is OD. Did you paint it?
Same question on the KAC panels.

I like how you filed off the nub of the pistol grip to make it look more like an A1.

I just used Mr Dremel and my grinder, and took it off. I have smaller hands and so I find the finger bump sits right in the middle of my middle finger when I take a normal grip. So I got rid of it.

The foreend panels are KAC green factory. And the butt is factory green, with Colt tube and inards.

Leg, I too would have preferred the barrel to end right at the bayonet lug. After 8 or 9 different 9mm carbines, I've had them in a lot of different configurations. It originally was a 16" barrel and I cut it down. It didn't get quite cut to where I was hoping, but it doesn't bother me that much to get it done again. Some day maybe I'll do it, but I've got a lot of other projects that have a higher priority.... Like making ammo, that job never ends:rolleyes: .

Of course I have to do some range time, so I've learned to love it the way it is.:)
