Prvi Partizan makes the loaded rounds; Redding, RCBS, and Hornady already makes the dies.

Plus, RCBS makes dies for the 8mm kurz round, you can get the FL dies as well as form dies. Check out gunshows as they sometimes can still be found there. Also, Lee makes a set that I have used as well and it is OK so far. I bought mine from Marstar, but I think they may be sold out now...

I personally found that the Hornady 125gr bullets didn't shoot worth a crap out of my BD44. Out of 40 rounds on a 15x15" target at 100m, they were scattered from one corner to the other with six not even making it on paper.

15 rounds of '44 surplus, though, grouped 3".

The only thing I can think of, being that the velocities were almost identical between my handloads and the surplus, is that the surplus bullets have a much more gentle ogive whereas the Hornady bullets are longer and much more pointed. Possibly not making enough contact with the rifling to stabilize them?

That's mere conjecture on my part of course. I just got the Hornadys before the weather got crappy so I haven't done any more testing on them since.

Good to know.

I have only shot about 60 rounds through my BD last year. I didn't try past 50 yards though. Mostly was trying to pick off cans at the range.

This spring I have a few hundred loaded up and I'm hoping to do some accuracy tests/service rifle shoots at the range. Though I'm not expecting much, and as with all of my milsurps, I'm happy as a pig in stink if they do minute of moose!

It's not like it was ever designed to be a tac driver, and cant hunt with it anyways.... so.... die paper, die!!!

Ok....I noticed the difference in the hornady boolets compared to genuine as well

ANYWAY....

has anyone experimented with 150gr projos?

they are heavier than 'factory'....but shouldnt they be more stable and thus more accurate (and also more common???)))???
