I have a strong interest in WWII firearms and also in .22 rifles and pistols. However, I don't see the benefit of combining the 2. I have learned the hard way not to buy a .22 firearm based on looks. Most "military replica" .22s will be a disappointment as a firearm and end up being an awfully expensive paperweight or wall hanger if they don't shoot and function as well as , or better than, a typical .22 rifle.
I've owned an MP38 and an MP40, they are well made, heavy with historical markings and practically ooze history. A plastic and pot metal replica that fires .22 semi-auto leaves me scratching my head wondering "why?"
