I am trying to get a sense of what these guns might be worth.
They would require 12-3 licensing as they are all converted (smg) auto guns, I am trying to get a feel for what the demand might be.

Great pieces. I am with Stevo I have 12-3 but am cash poor.
Now if you wanted to trade for a couple of Brno 21H rifles one in 7X57 and 8X57, Ruger No1 in 7X57, and a custom built 7X57 sporter, I would take some of them off your hands.

Nice looking Lanchester.

I think the estimate of $1800 for it as a dewat may be a little high. I usually see the asking price for them around $1,500 to $1,600, and the selling price a bit lower, say around $1100-$1400. I bought mine for the lower end of that spectrum, but had to spend a fair bit to get a proper 50 round mag for it.

I got to fire a full auto Lanchester about 5 years ago, with an un-neutered 50 round mag. What a thrill shooting that classic was, and the mag seemed to just keep on going. Very heavy SMG mind you, and that full mag sure added to the load.

I keep saying, we need a firearm museum to shelter these guns in.

Otherwise, they'll all be gone in a few decades.
They exist, I am involved with one in the Maritimes which has charitable status. The Canadian War Museum also has a gigantic collection but of course they now turn pretty much everything away due to lack of space or already have a half dozen of them. Unless it's Hitler's personal PPK or something.

Very unfortunate that these pieces are converted to semi-auto but still better than someone taking a torch to them more thoroughly. Skirson's prices are on the high side of accurate, for dewats. And David, it has been a pleasure reading these threads you are posting. Great pictures and an excellent collection of stuff. If you need a tax deduction, drop me a line..

The MP44 might even fetch for a higher price with the right seller.

Usually they go for $3000-4000 but one sold at Milarm in Edmonton within the last year for $6000+

It is sad our gun laws are so restrictive or should I say prohibitive. If I ever win the lottery I think I will make a "Human Rights" case as I am "dicriminated due to my age".

In the US that MP40 would run $8000-10,000 and the MP44 up to $20,000

That is good to know, since I wasn't aware of any. It would be nice if they were advertised better.

There ought to be a sticky in the Milsurp Forum, outlining the steps an individual can take to preserve their full-autos in their will, and when they don't want them anymore.

The tax deduction is a nice touch.

I would like to thank every one that has replied to this thread either by personal messages or as part of this post.

I started this thread with the purpose of trying to get a sense of current market value for the converted autos as it has been a subject that I have been thinking about for quite some time.
I have never sold anything in my collection so far.

A number of people have made offers on these guns which I really appreciate.
There seems to be a number of 12-3 people out there that might be interested in this stuff.

I might not be ready just yet, but this is the first time that I gone as far as to try and find out what they might be worth.
The 12-3s will be the first guns that I will part with.

I have tried to respond to all the people that sent me messages.

A number of people had concerns that these guns might be deactivated,
that is definitely not my intention.
I have some other "#### and click" guns that I have purchased that were already deactivated.

I am quite sure that there are people on this Forum that will eventually own these guns.

As a collector there are accessories that are added after the gun has been purchased ....some are shown below.

I can well imagine people feeling... when you are ready to sell and have a price in mind let me know and I will let you know if I am interested.

Before I got into this stuff I was primarily a US Civil War collector, which is probably where I will go back to.

Some of the accessories that I have will have to be taken into consideration....in some way.

Thanks again for your help and interest.
My two sons will not own these guns, and as much as I respect a dealer’s right to earn a living I would prefer to see these guns eventually go directly to a collector.

You have to love the MP40 mags and the MP44 spare parts. I was born too late in history to have a 12 status and my father didn't have those interests, so I am stuck with TNW semi's and Sport Systeme Deitrich copies. I have a few orignal accessories in my own collection but those are very nice. I think I recognize them from the Milsup Forum?

Welding that PPSh would be a crime against nature, but then again so are the laws that compel such an act. I may be Canadian but I do have a love of Russian history, and that thing either belongs in a museum or in my collection. Sadly, no 12-3.
