I had to laugh at that part... He sort of looks like a Sgt. Shultz... "I know NOTHING!"

And then we've got Mr. ZZ Top at the end as well.

I think eating fewer twinkies and going on more runs might help improve their performance overall.

My dad had a friend who used them in WW2 as well. He spoke favourably of it as well.

Was a chronic problem for the MP44's. The Germans were always hard pressed to manufacture sufficient ammunition for.

Well with all the bletfed 8mm guns they had, and so many targets on the eastern front its no wonder they had ammo supply problems.
The Mp44 fires 7.92x33, aka 8mm Kurz. Different from the cartridge fired by the Mausers and MG's, 7.92x57. IIRC, Speer identified early during trials that it would be very difficult to keep the Wehrmacht supplied with 8mm Kurz.

German Army suffered from cronic ammo shortages during the war period. Apparently Hitler was so confidant that the war in Russia would be over quickly that he ordered ammunition production stopped, before the invasion!

After that German industry never managed to catch up with demand again.

the german high command was idiotic. the Mp44 and its predecessors had to developed in secrecy, because it was not fully condoned. The germans seemed to have this problem throughout the war. they kept developing things until the end, instead of focusing on standardizing and mass producing.

But we did come up with some pretty cool toys!
