MP5 Dimensions?

Just wondering if someone who's lucky enough to own one of these special toys could help me out.

I need some dimensions from the receiver and they need to be accurate! They would need to be taken with either a micrometer or a caliper.

Before you ask, I am not building a receiver or doing anything nefarious. I am, however, working on a neat little project that may end up on the market if things go well ;)

The more of you who are able to measure the better as I expect there will be some differences between models and years of manufacture.

1 & 2 are the most important. I expect they will be very similar, if not identical but I need to know. Just need the Diameter of the main tube.

3 Diameter of the upper tube. I expect 3 & 5 will be very similar

4 Diameter of the barrel. Not overly important but it would be good to know.

5 Diameter of the cocking tube where it meets the main body.

I was wondering about this. Are the Airsoft parts accurate duplications? You happen to know of a company making accurate reproduction parts?

As far as I know the outside dimensions are damn close.

For what you are doing, I'm sure it would work. I always planned to stuff a 10/22 into an MP5SD airsoft body but never got around to it.
 
Alright, I've got some measurements but would be nice to get some verification/comparison numbers. Any takers?

1 = 1.650 in

2 = 1.645 in

3 = 0.898 in

4 = 0.602 in

5 = 0.901 in

There is a HK licensed BB gun that is based on the MP5 PDW that is apparently to spec in terms of dimensions. There are people that have ordered actual HK parts to replace the plastic pieces from. That BB gun is so accurate in terms of dimensions that airsoft guys sometimes modify it to shoot airsoft ammo.

Might be worth a try. I think UMAREX makes them, and are actually licensed to make the real MP5 clones.
