MP5 non-restricted equivalent?

I was wondering if there was a non-restricted firearms that looks like the MP5? I'm sure you guys know

Nope. The closest to an MP5-looking firearm in Canada you'll get is the restricted FAMAE SAF.

Coming from a guy who used to bring in HERA kits for the USC? You know better than that .

^ Non restricted goodness, put on a barrel shroud and you could make it look like a MP5SD.

I wonder if it's been done to the FAMAE SAF?

The HERA kits make a USC look like a fugly UMP, minus the godawful non-restricted barrel. That's kind of what I was getting with that (anything that looks like an MP5 is going to be restricted with the shorter barrel).

It looks like a one man operation in a garage, and probably uses 10/22 receivers directly, but still looks cool.

Not bad, thank you for the pictures. Oh well, restricted it is then. Since they are quite short, is it considered as a "pistol"? I mean, if I could bring it in an indoor range? I assume most of them are chambered in .22 or 9mm?

Yup, the FAMAE mini is 9mm. The USC's and Kriss's are .45 ACP

Not mine - as I was too lazy to go down, dig it out of the safe, take a picture and then upload it. But yes, this is an attached suppressor for it (something mere mortals are not allowed to possess). Otherwise restricted and ordinarily available.

It is. The TP9 doesn't have a standard thread attachment, so it's kind of a unique setup; the suppressor threads onto the adapter which also features a short picatinny rail.
