Just ordered a new MP9 2.0. Considering the Fobus Roto Evolution holster for $35. Thoughts, concerns, recommendations on alternatives?

Are there better holsters in that price range?

Thanks in advance.

I'd recommend against it. Not that $35. is too much money, but I think it likely that - in the long run - it won't meet your expectations, and you'll just add it to your growing 'holster box'. In fact, I'd forget 'price range' altogether as a criteria for buying a holster. Instead of price, ask yourself these questions: Why do I want this holster? What do I want this holster to do well?

If your answer is 'general range use', I'd steer you toward a Blade-Tech Classic OWB.

What are your intentions with the pistol ? What will you use the holster for ? Are you going to abuse the snot out of it running&gunning or is it just to store your pistol on your hip at the range ?

Run&gun: SolelyCanadian, G-Code or Safariland.

-SolCan are well made custom holsters, very solid, canadian made and well priced. Only downside is the wait time, which tells you a lot about Tim's work quality. Lots of colors and options available.

-Gcode and safariland are more duty orientated. A bit less custom but also worth it. Usually good quality holster that will hold up to abuse.

Whatever you chose, you'll end up buying more and owning a drawer full of holsters :p

Admin carry: any holster will do at any price range

Please buy quality. Cheap is not something you trust to put a handgun in.
Fobus, IMO, is garbage. I know a guy with that exact holster. The paddle is so soft, he drew the gun with the holster attached to it! We could not stop ourselves laughing.

The only question you need to ask yourself is what level retention you want. Otherwise, any high quality holster will do everything you need. A cheap one will not.
As most have already mentioned...
Bladetech, SolCan, Safariland, Raven are good. My personal favorite is also Tim’s SolCans. They are excellent and so is he.
If you want to do a bit of work, look up Alien Gear. They will ship to Canada. High quality, lifetime warranty and surprisingly cheap!

This! Wait a month and take $35 outside and burn it and you will get more benefit out of the money than buying a Fobus holster. You just bought a great gun why put in in a cheap holster that will not last. SolCan makes a very good product.

Take Care
