I'm wondering who has used the MPI rifle stocks and what you think of them? I'm doing research on their Extra light model that weights 13 - 16 oz.

Anyone use the MPI stocks?

I have had one on my 358 Norma for over 20 years with out a problem.It,s not even a Magnum stock.When i ordered it I asked for a Magnum stock and was told I didn,t need it.They were right it,s never given any problems after firing over a 1000 rounds

Yes, there was one found to have popsicle sticks under the fiberglass. I'd say quality control may be a problem.

I've have good luck with Bansner High Techs in the past and would recomend them.

I have a bansner sheep hunter on the rifle right now and I don't like the way it looks with the featherweight contour barrel, forend is to wide, barrel channel is too large, and I don't want to fill it and add more weight, the barrel sits real high in the forend. I'm sure if you put a #4 contour barrel in the stock then it would be fine but with my pencil barrel I'm looking for something different, looks like MPI makes many many different models to choose from, just wondering about feedback from users.

I have an email to Bansner right now to see if they have other options that would work for me.

Yes they do have a wider contour channel in the forend. A MR bbl would have a fair amount of gap.

You may want to check out the B&C TI stock, assuming yours is a Remington.

posted around the net, allegedly an MPI. No way of knowing really, or if someone else wanted a beefier stock and glued them on himself.

I've installed an MPI, and they are a fair bit of work, because the inletting is moulded in the foam and fill, not CNC'd like Brown Precision or McMillan.

Dakota uses MPI's, and that speaks volumes.

Personally, the super light stocks I've seen (MG Arms, Brown Pounders) have been too flexy for me. I'd buy a Mcmillan Edge, which you can get down to 20 oz and are very stiff and easy to install and finish

I have a B&C TI stock on the shelf, actually the rifle IS a Titanium so the stock is actually off this rifle, they weigh 24 ounces, not a bad stock, definitly have there place but they don't fit everyone and kinda feel like shooting a baseball bat.
