MR-1 and Lapua Scenars 77 gr...Wow... Pics...

Very nice groups. Impressive.

I rather like the version with the regular rifle stock. Anyone know if someone in Canada sells the cheek riser and tri-rail accessories?

Great gun and great shooting. I think you proved a point to the naysayers who've got nothing good to say about this rifle. Good on ya!

Don't know about the riser for the ComforTech stock, but as far as the tri-rail, not available anywhere for any money. You should be able to find the rail kit for the CX4, it's the same part except it only comes with one rail. A second add on rail will run you +/- $35.00. Crazy price but if you want to play, you gotta pay. I used the kit, works great.:)

The recipe is 25 gr of BL-C2 CCI BR-4 primer 2,268 OAL, they push 2850 and it should give you an easy sub moa load... The 77 gr Scenars were given to me by a fellow shooter ( the bigger part of a box of 500 ), but i know for a fact that Hirsh precision carry Lapua products, i should order some in the Spring as i am almost out of those magic ogive... Cheers. JP.

Hey J.P., that's some great groups. Not there yet myself with the MR1. As an aside, do you have any recommendation for cleaner/solvent/method to remove the build-up of powder residue inside the piston shroud? Pulled mine apart for the first time after 300+ rounds and there's a baked on build up of crud in there.
Thanks

Thanks,

My buddy will try these in his MR1, I found a couple boxes of the heads and he will start a bit lower and work his way up, then I'll try them in mine. :D
My groups really srinked when i got in the 25 Gr+ but your MR-1 could be slightly different, looking forward to see about your results... Cheers. JP.

What ammo were you shooting, never encounter baked residus but should be easy to clean with a good solvent and a old tooth brush or a bore brush... Cheers. JP.

If you are shooting at 100 metres or less, i find that the factory metallic sights on the MR-1 to be the best one of all my rifles, they perfectly adjust for some easy MOA groups and actually they give you a perfect cheekweld and aquisition is very fast, in a close brush wood scenario, i would not bother with no optic as those MS are of the highest precision and quality... Cheers. JP.

... Here a picture of them... Cheers. JP.

Had a chance yesterday of borrowing a Lucid with the 2X magnification, mounted it on my MR-1 and zero it, this is great optic for my rifle, i had to remove the rear sight but it only take a minute, i could group easy .6 .7 with that unit, it is a 200 metres or less proposition but it is perfect for the cheekweld, for sure will shop around for one as it would be a perfect low light hunting optic... Cheers. JP.

Nice shooting, Caramel. You are single-handedly making it necessary for me to get one of these guns. I found the one that I handled very comfortable, and your posts are pushing me further and further over.

It's only fair to warn you that if I buy it, my wife will kill...you!
