MR1 or XCR or Tavor or Swiss Arms?

Not to beat a dead horse, but it's really advisable to wait to see how the whole SAN issue pans out.

Good advice, but too late. I picked up my new rifle today! I couldn't wait any longer. And I really thought about what it is that I want to do with it, and made my choice from that.
I'll post pics later when I get a chance.

I went with the Tavor! It just made more sense for my style of shooting. I'm efffen stoked to get out and do some shooting with it.

I just threw on a Vortex sparc I had laying around. I don't think it will be on it for long. I didn't want to spend lots of money on a optic until I try the rifle out. I haven't decided weather I want magnification, or just a dot sight. What do you guys like on your tavor?

Anayway, here is some pics

Excellent choice--the Sparc look like a natural fit, actually. I've got a Trijicon RMR on mine now--I sometimes think I'd like some magnification but the tiny size and light weight of the RMR keeps convincing me otherwise. For me, I don't want to put a heavy optic on a lightweight carbine that's intended for fast shooting at closer ranges. I shot my FS2000 with a 2MOA Aimpoint out to 300m with no issues so I don't feel very handicapped with a 1X scope. Try the Sparc for a bit to see how you like it.

Here's mine earlier this week:

and my youngest daughter (she's 11) tried it as well--her first semi-auto anything and first time with a centrefire rifle--she loved it!

Awesome pics man! good timing with the brass flying out. Good to see you passing your hobby onto your children. I plan to do the same, their still a bit young for that though.
I don't think I'll need magnification, my eyesight is pretty good. And what I bought it for was not long range precision shooting. I really just wanted a excuse to get a ACOG. lol. Yeah, I'll rock the SPARC for a while, it's a decent optic. I might borrow my buddies Aimpoint and see how I like that.

I like ACOGs a lot--but a lot of them are either too heavy or have tighter eye relief than I'd like for multi-position shooting. I had a TA-33 ACOG on my first FS2000--I really liked it; lightweight and with generous eye relief. If I ever pick up another it'd probably one of those.

very nice great choice! i have a 4x32 acog on my tavor and it is very nice. the eye relief is the only slight negative i have. my vote for the best tavor optic is an elcan specter dr

If you want a bullpup - Tavor, best of its class in the world
If you want a standard rifle - XCR, don't mind the few whiners complaining of its QC. It had its teething issues in the beginning, but now you only hear complaints from people who have a hard on for XCR's.
Either one will do you fine, hell get both.

I thought it was ugly when I first saw them, but it grows on you. It's still ugly, but in a good way. It's like a fat chick that puts out. I find beauty in its function.

Swiss Arms.

Thanks guys, but your a little late. I got my tavor a few months ago. I still have my eyes on a Swiss Arms, providing its not re-classified one will eventually find its way into my hands. Am actually thinking the FAMAE will be my next big purchase. I've been craving for a semi auto .308 for a while now.

Can't go wrong with a tavor, might I ask why you are considering a swiss arms or famae over an XCR?

Mosty because of reputation. I've only ever held the XCR at the gun store when I was shopping for what's listed in the title of this thread. I liked the looks, and it felt good to shoulder. I didn't even really notice that it was front heavy, as many others here have complained about. But when you read about all the issues they've had in the past, it's more than just a few unhappy people that are impossible to please. Clearly they've had some quality control issues with those guns. I hear that's been addressed, but I'll wait a while longer to be sure. I've never been much of a gambler, and $2500 is more that I want to risk on a firearm that has had quality control issues. I still may get one, but not till they devolp a better reputation. And yes, I know the FAMAE is brand new, and has no reputation. But it's taken from a proven desighn.
I've even been considering buying one of my friends M1a's. He's going to be buying a LRB M25 tanker, and is selling either his M1a National Match, or his uber rare Super Match to pay for his new toy. But I would never be happy with the factory stock, and have to dump another $1000 on a new stock.

What people dont take into consideration also is that for every problem found on the internet there is probably 100 happy customers. People are more inclined to go out of their way to post about an issue or problem then for something that they are contempt with.
