MR1 or XCR or Tavor or Swiss Arms?

What people dont take into consideration also is that for every problem found on the internet there is probably 100 happy customers. People are more inclined to go out of their way to post about an issue or problem then for something that they are contempt with.

Agreed, I was also looking around for XCR complaints on every forum I could find. There was just the odd guy who had a lot of complaining to do, most of the issues were with Alex himself, which is a total non-issue for Canadians. At the end of the day I was very impressed reading all of the reviews, most of them are just little one liners like, "put 4k through it no problems". Seems to me almost like a bad impression was made initially, almost like the type of rhetoric that says ar-15s jam and ak's are inaccurate.

I hope everything works out for you (and odds are it will), but if you search the forums here you'll find a lot more members--fairly recently even--with XCR problems than with other rifles. It goes beyond the "odd guy who had a lot of complaining" to members with real issues. For sure, most XCRs are fine...but you'll find more problems posted here than with most other NR black rifles.

I totally agree, your always going to hear and remember the bad things. Undoubtably they have made far more good rifles than bad. But how many lemons do they put out compaired to quality builds. Lets say out of every 1000 XCR's, they put out 10 that they should have. And IWI only let's 1, or even 0 out of every 1000. Where would you rather spend your money? I'm just saying I've head far more complaints about the XCR than I have about the Tavor or Swiss arms. And my chances of getting a quality rifle will be better with a Swiss arms or tavor.

Mosty because of reputation. I've only ever held the XCR at the gun store when I was shopping for what's listed in the title of this thread. I liked the looks, and it felt good to shoulder. I didn't even really notice that it was front heavy, as many others here have complained about. But when you read about all the issues they've had in the past, it's more than just a few unhappy people that are impossible to please. Clearly they've had some quality control issues with those guns. I hear that's been addressed, but I'll wait a while longer to be sure. I've never been much of a gambler, and $2500 is more that I want to risk on a firearm that has had quality control issues. I still may get one, but not till they devolp a better reputation. And yes, I know the FAMAE is brand new, and has no reputation. But it's taken from a proven desighn.
I've even been considering buying one of my friends M1a's. He's going to be buying a LRB M25 tanker, and is selling either his M1a National Match, or his uber rare Super Match to pay for his new toy. But I would never be happy with the factory stock, and have to dump another $1000 on a new stock.

What is it that you want?
You're all over the place here...
calibre, function, fit, accessories, you're all over the spectrum, you can't even compare!

Buy all of them! Tavor, XCR, Swiss, Famae, national match springfield armory m1a, an lrb tanker, they're all good to excellent firearms.

P.S. don't change the stock of a super match! don't touch that gun, don't let anyone touch that gun, just shoot it and be happy, please!

You sound like my wife (other than the part about how I should buy all of them). Not that I disagree with you. I'm very impulsive, but I do know what I want. And if I had the coin I'd just go out now and get everything. I do want all these guns, but deciding what to get next is always my biggest problem. I'm sure in the next 5 years I'll have all these guns were discussing now, and nothing will have changed except the new list of must haves. Plane and simple, caliber, function, fit, and accessories are niceties, I just like guns.
And I'm not getting the LRB, that's my friend. The only reason I mentioned the M1a's is because one might become available to me, and that would be a hard rifle to let slip through my fingers.

If dealers are still willing to carry the XCR, then I am sure they are not that bad.

So your saying if you can buy it, it must be good? Dose that mean Kel-tec, Savage, Norinco, and hi-point are all quality firearms ? The mere fact that its on the shelf at gun stores speaks nothing about it's quality, just that it hasn't been recalled.
I'm not bashing the XCR, I'm just not going to buy one till I've heard that they've fixed the issues.

Personally I didn't like the feel of the xcr when I put it to my shoulder, length of pull was way too short for my 6 feet 2 inches and long arms. And the tavor really has the perfect length of pull and weight for me (yes a bullpup). I mean lets face it, I'm not a combat infantryman, running 20 miles a day here, I'm 36 years old, the weight of the rifle has an effect of my buying decisions.

But that's just me, and yah it has about 98% to do with personal opinion really, these guns will all go bang, I mean you're talking 2500$+++ guns here, they're all good.

Some dealers have stop selling certain type of guns because they were having too many issues.
And for your information, savage and norinco are not quality firearms but they will work. Quality firearms and firearm that will work most of the time is two different things.

Why would dealers sell guns that will give them a lot of headache because the customer keep coming back for warranty?
The fact is that almost every gun dealers out there sell the xcr.

Savage makes some very high quality and accurate models, but they do make some lesser tiered firearms as well.

I'm 6'2" and have long arms as well, but I wasn't really bothered by LOP. I actually thought it shouldered nicely. But I like the feel of the Tavor way more. When I'm holding it, it's like my upper body just swallows it and makes it a part of me. Sounds weird, but it truly feels like an extension of my body. I'm yet to hold a gun as comfortable as the Tavor. But that's just me. It's one of the reasons I chose the Tavor over the Swiss Arms (bs aside), and the XCR. I do the majority of my shooting from standing, and IMO the Tavor is the best option for that style of shooting.

I'm not bashing the XCR. I just don't think the fact that they are for sale is a valid argument for its quality. I have no doubt the vast majority of the XCR's out there are superb firearms, that haven't had a single hiccup. Besides My reasons mentioned above, I just felt my chances of not getting a lemon would be better with the Tavor.
I have my reasons for not being interested in the XCR. There is no need to convince me its a good gun. I believe you.
But I'll say this. When I started this thread you have no idea how many PM's I got from people wanting to sell me their XCR. But I didn't get one PM from somebody wanting to sell me their Tavor or Swiss Arms. That didn't really inspire my confidence in the XCR. It made me wonder why so many people were trying to sell the same gun. I know that doesn't mean much, but I tend to go with my gut.

Not really my thing. I owned a savage axis for about 5 min. A friend gave me a deal on it, so I took it. I went out once, put 20 rounds through it, then went home and listed it on the EE. It was accurate, and I still own a Savage 93 .17hmr that's very accurate.
