Looking for some advice on getting my new MR1 with LAR 15 magazines. Every second round fails to feed. The bullet gets squished back into the case in some failures.

I did some research and failures to feed and it looks like adjusting the magazine lips might be helpful. I'm having difficulty finding a tool to adjust the magazine lips.

Anyone have any advice?

Are you sure this isn't an ATRS MH??? Sorry, just tired of hearing one gun get slagged like others don't have similar issues. Maybe the folks "gifted with criticism" will be along.

On topic, does it feed the same ammo in factory mags without a hiccup? If so compare the LAR and factory mags in every dimension very closely. Something will be different. Make it the same. Make sure the magazine catch holds the LAR mags at exactly the same depth and angle of the factory ones. Keep in mind that if you bend, file, adjust the LAR mags then you may end up owning destroyed mags.

There is no consistency on ar type mags on the market today. It s a hit and miss.
If you can get benelli factory mags it would be ideal

Side by side the ammo in the Lars vs stock mags do sit differently so I'll start there and adjust. Thanks!

My friend's dad's MR1 had a problem feeding the black LAR15 mags pretty much every second round.
I tried my grey LAR15 mags from Questar and they fed reliably.
I have seen other forum threads just like this. Apparently they are just not a fan of the black mags for whatever reason

I find the grey mags with the yellow follower worked better than the black with the orange follower. The orange broke in over time. (Sounds like you're having more issues than I ever did.) I've never compared the two followers so I can't say if it's angle or shape that is different.

The best for feeding are the Beowulf mags but I had to sand mine down on the sides at the top. Don't always drop free but 15 rounds are nice.

There was a guy at the range with a MR1 about a month ago and he was having problems with feeding with FMJ ammo from an LAR pistol mag and the factory mag too. I let him try one of my ATRS AT15 pistol mags and it worked flawlessly, they might be worth a try in your rifle.

I've ordered the arts at15 mags to give them a try

Thanks for the advice

As an update I ordered 4 AT15 mags and they still don't feed correctly. Every 4th shot fails. Anyone know if the sponsors carry the mag lip adjustment tools? I haven't been able to find them in Canada.
