Trying to decide on an aftermarket muzzle brake to help with muzzle jump and shot recovery. Currently has a stock muzzle brake and I’m noticing a lot of extra muzzle jump.

These two options are both Canadian made and was wondering which performa better. Similar designs with the Rock Solid having top ports. The Heathen is well recommended and also over twice the price. Willing to pay it if it’s truly the better option.

Anyone have experience with these brakes?

No opinion (other then wanting to promote an Alberta company :) ), but one more Canadian-made option is the SBI Hex Brake. If price is a concern, its even less expensive then the MRA option.

Go to time index 1:58 of the below video to see Adriel the Hunting Gear Guy firing a VZ58 without and then with the version of the SBI Hex Brake for that firearm:

Edit: Couple of reviews on the manufacturer's sub forum's main thread.

I had a brake from a BC source installed on my 8mm Rem Mag by Dennis Sorensen [Guntech on here]
It is very good and does not look like an ugly mass on the end of my barrel.
Turned that 8mm into a 270 [or less], and muzzle jump is nil. Dave.
