MRA V1-B Receiver Set PRESALE!

This is very cool.

I hope that an 308 version is also in the works as it would be a good alternative to the Sig Cross or Fix by Q rifles.

School me please....how much (decent parts but not Gucci) for the bits that are missing to make this a full rifle?

Its easier to say what not to use. Take all the parts off of your now prohibted, previously restricted AR-15 or previously non-restricted ATRS or Maccabee Arms rifle. Take the upper receiver, lower receiver, gas tube, and bolt control group, and place them in your secure gun storage. Or perhaps these parts are already at the bottom of a lake, or Mike from Canmore now owns them :) Take the rest of your parts, and assemble them onto the MRA receiver and BCG. Hopefully MRA will do a good build video, showing how to properly block off the gas port, and use the buffer tube spring with their bolt from the spring assist.

Any reason why the cycling mechanism is not going to be via pump? I'm thinking like the Troy PARs, but not based on an AR...

Just seems easier to cycle.

This is very similar to the Troy SAR. Much like the Troy SAR and PAR, they have modified bolt carriers which are not compatible with ARs nor their gas system. This precludes them from being an AR variant or a semi for that matter. They do however, take common AR accessories including thee bolt itself. So those with bolt matched barrels, they'll at least have something to put them in.

I think this is just a lot easier with fewer proprietary parts. Any handguard will work. And you can run a super short barrel and not be limited by the pump mechanism.

kinda a Kool factor, with a short barrel. However, you used to {buy} a complete PAR for $1229 not long ago. {now gouged at 1850!} A Complete S&W AR was $699 in Canada not long ago. Guess Im Cheap, just receiver sets at $800, seems a tad up there, however, on the other hand, I guess you could do a Budget Build around $1300 mark. {on par w/PAR old price}

So what the shortest barrel that can be used on this to keep it NR? This could be fun, sad, but fun. Would like to see pics of a complete build.

A 10.5 AR is 25", at buffer tube So, approx: 11.5" should Just get you there. 11.5 maybe cutting it -> 12.5 prob be the most common.

Most of the parts can be had for about $1,200.00 less optics. So about $2,000.00 plus optics for the complete gun.

MRA Bolt $100
MRA Barrel 223 wylde $380
MRA Buffer Assembly $100
MRA Handguard $270
MRA Muzzle Brake $100
Butt Stock $140
Lower Parts Kit $100-$200
Optics ?

Some 223 options Savage Axis $1,100 Savage Elite $2,200 Ruger American $850

I've built a few guns using MRA parts. I've been really happy with the quality of the parts and the accuracy. You can save some money if you're not in a hurry and shop sales.

Looking at the parts list on page one what is "end plate" and "barrel gas journal seal" ?
Also, what diameter is the buffer tube socket milspec or commercial?

So if someone either modified or designed a new bolt carrier for this to operate as semi auto, would it still be non restricted? If its not classified as an AR varient then the action shouldnt matter right, or does the law classify the action?

This firearm was specifically designed to never work as a semi-automatic firearm, only as a manual action. There is no way to modify it to work in another fashion.

MRA has a completely different semi-automatic chassis ready to go, but they will not release it until the government changes or the OIC changes are ruled invalid.

I guess the question i was trying to ask is what classifies an AR as an AR? Is it the receivers, the action, looks, the name or bolt design? These receivers look like an AR and even take the same parts, so is it manual action compared to gas operated that makes it different from an AR varient?

Why are people so bent on f#@&!ng everything up
####ing what up?
