I'm trying to understand the expiry on these...

If they are stored at 10 degress - they will be good for 8 years?
These were made in 2009 - so one year has gone by.
Who knows at what temperature they were stored at prior to the ammo source getting them?

If they were stored at room temperature within the past year they could be expired already?

I am very interested in purchasing some of these - but I am just trying to figure out if it's a gamble of food that is past expiration / expiration coming up soon?

Don't take this as a negative comment - but simply a question!

Got mine yesterday and just ate a chicken pesto one with potato cheddar soup. It was really really good. It says shelf life is five years on the package. I really was suprised by it all. The carrot cake is awesome.
Gonna put them away as emergency and in a couple years I will just eat them and get more. Its a no hassle emergency food supply that covers all nutritional needs. Highly recommend them.
