First time out with the brand new MRR18.6" and we managed this:
\

100m
MRR18.6
Magpul MOE stock
Triggertech
16x scope
Berger VLD 70gr with 23gr of Varget.
While this is pretty good in itself, we tried various ammo. 55gr AE (~3"), 62gr X-Tac(+2.5"), Some factory OTM 69gr (~2"), Norinco surplus (~4"). The results were average overall, about on par with what I can do with an ACOG and my IUR.
23gr of powder was our first try and it ended up shooting the best for reloads. As soon as we tried 23.2gr of powder, groupings doubled up in sizes. Same results for 23.4gr. We also had a couple of rounds that didn't feed properly and for now I am blaming this on the reloads.
While I never expected the MRR18.6" to suddenly shoot Norinco surplus in nice 2" groups, I expected better results from the X-Tac and the OTM. It was also really interesting to see how much of a difference .2gr of powder made in the results. I love my expanding CC family, but I am questioning if I just should have stayed with my 16" IUR for my SR rig.
We also shot the MRR11.6", and got similar results, but we weren't paying as close attention. Today was all bout the SR rigs.
