BCL stated in an email that they sent out a shipment of these last month to the distributor.

When will they be available for sale and which retailers are getting them?

300 blk is designed for SBR…. We are allowed SBR here in Canada yet decide to go longer for no reason at all…. 300blk is amazing for 10.5 and 12 in…. Why 16.5 ????

A .300 blk with a 12.5” barrel would make a really handy little rifle in the bush, and wouldn’t take up much room in the truck either.
I’m looking forward to seeing these on the shelves.

Agreed. 10.5-12” is where the 300 shines. An SBR bolt action a neat concept to me. Not interested in a 16.5”

Be nice if it wasn't a truck axle of a barrel as well. I keep seeing these SBR's that are using what looks like cut down palma barrels. Damn things weigh 10lbs. How about 6-7 lbs instead?

I'm also interested in a longer barrel version. I know some are saying shorter is better with the 300, but with my limited knowledge I believe that is because it works better for the gas system in a semi auto, since this is a bolt, I would assume longer barrel would lend to better accuracy. Just my opinion, probably wrong.

Unfortunately Business Development is not playing to those who want a 12" barrel truck gun that has enough jam to down a coyote. They're gonna manufacture for the largest demographic that they think they can sell to. In this case that is the 16.5" for those who don't know or understand the 300blk cartridge.

Canada has become such a niche market that investment - even of 12" barrels for 300 blk for the few of us who know - is a risky gamble. Basically the market is being flooded with easily moved product in an effort to maximize profits before the Feds shut everything down.

Canada law… Unlimited rounds in a bolt gun yet we create a bolt gun that uses at-15 mags and are pinned to 5…… All you need to have a winner in sales in Canada is a bolt .300 blk SBR with a 30 round proprietary mag…. It’s so simple yet we choose the total opposite, Long heavy barrel and 5 rounds in a long empty mag… Then wonder why sales are down…. Please

I would bet that BCL sees Canadian sales a minor fringe benefit. Even modest American sales likely dwarfs robust sales here.

To a point. A proprietary 30rd bolt gun mag would be eventually banned by the Feds. That is why real investment, other than to push movable product, is not occurring. In addition to the feds, Canadian firearms owners are their own worst enemies, it was proven in the 90's with the endorsement of C-68 by the hunters and continues to be so to this day.

So why would a manufacturer spend the time and money to develop a true proprietary 30rd bolt gun mag knowing that the feds will eventually outlaw it (and no real sales outside of Canada) and the hunters will be against it as it looks too "Tacticool".

It’s not tactical cool as you say…. It’s the law and the facts…. 300blk is designed for a SBR FACT…. 300 blk is designed to be Subsonic FACT… We can’t have suppressed firearms FACT. UNLIMITED rounds in a bolt gun Law FACT. The FUDD mentality is the problem not the consumers wanting a product that was designed in that exact specific way that follows the law…
