Have just about made up my mind this is the scope for my CZ 452, just would like to know what the difference between the Standard Plex and APV Plex recticle is. I'm thinking I want as fine a crosshair as I can get?

I "followed" the gestation of the APV on Rimfire Central and bought one of the first ones in Canada ... the importer/distributor actually hand-delivered it to my home in St. Boniface. I'm pretty sure that you'll like it.

I originally bought mine as a second scope for my Anschütz 64 sporter (sold as a CIL 310 about 40 years ago), but it now sits on my Remington SPS Varmint, where it does a fine job. I ended-up not using it on the Anschütz because I wanted to have a more "to scale" scope on that pretty little rifle. I stayed with a Leupold Ultralite, also with EFR/AO. Incidentally, I used steel Talley rings designed specifically for the European 11 mm dovetail on the Anschütz, which was not drilled-and-tapped. I got the rings direct from Talley, but that's probably not do-able these days.

My APT fit perfectly on my 452 american in high talley rings. Bolt clearance and proximity to the bore were as close as you can get with the high bolt throw of the CZs.

Cheers,
Cal.

That's something else I was wondering, I have a set of rings here on loan to try, they are Burris custom, medium height.

With the caveat that I haven't seen the Burris rings you speak of, I would be surprised if you can make the bolt throw with mediums. Check out rimfirecenteral's list of compatible rings and scopes. You might be able to find that combo on there.

Cheers,
Cal.

Yes Phil is a great guy. He hand delivered my APV's to my door in north Winnipeg.

I'm using Burris Signature (High) rings on my Savage with an APV and there's lots & lots of clearance. The bolt throw might be higher on a CZ but I'm not sure so I would try for high rings if your concerned.

I bought an APV, put high leupold rings on it. Didn't like that combo with the leupold rings not really made for the CZ so I put it on my sons .22 and bought an APT and mounted it in talley rings, just clears my bolt, looks and works great.
