Mueller APV 4.5-14x40AO or Vortex Crossfire II 6-18x44AO?

Just thought I'd provide an update for anyone who might be curious. I ended up with the Hawke Varmint SF 6-24x44. Build quality seems ok and the side focus is very accurate. I love the magnification range on this thing. I use a max of 12-18 but it is nice to be able to zoom in to 24 and use it as a spotting scope. The only issue is that the eye relief is VERY unforgiving. You have to be lined up perfectly behind the occular lens in order to get a good sight picture. If I had to do it again, I'd probably go for the Vortex.

Well I couldnt stop myself.... Bought the Vortex too

I dont know if I should say this right now, but..... I think the Hawke has a way sharper image than the Vortex. When I compared the two, the Vortex had a slight yellowy tint to it.

I know what you mean now when you said very unforgiving. If you dont have a very good natural cheek wield its a pain in the azz.
