I have a Mueller APV AO Rifle Scope, 4.5-14 x 40mm. I use it mainly for target shooting. Over the weekend it developed a stuck elevation turret which won’t turn up or down. The windage is fine and turns both ways smoothly with the designed clicks. I called Mueller and they said they can repair it for free. However, they can’t ship it back to Canada. Is it possible to ship it to the border and pick it up? I’m concerned that would be considered exporting from the US and might infringe on some USA firearm export law? It is a warranty, not a purchase item, I wonder if that makes any difference.
Can anyone advise me what to do to get it repaired. Is there anything I could do to fix it myself? Maybe it is an easy fix. I am mechanically savvy (but never attempted to fix a scope before).
If I can't repair it myself, in Canada, where would you get a Mueller scope repaired? I live in Vancouver and if possible can anyone recommend me a repair shop in the Vancouver or nearby area that is knowledgeable with these scopes.
