Mueller Scopes?

I put Muellers on my Stevens 200's. Both the rifles and the scopes perform well beyond what their price tags would suggest.

Rimfirecentral and Savageshooters usually have lots of info on them. Savageshooters went down a while back and lost lots of great info, not sure if there is much on them again yet.

Phil at WhiteFalls hunting supplies is the dealer up here and has always been very good to deal with.

I have a mueller 8.5x25-50 on my 308.
The scope is clear with a reasonable field of view. I find the eye releif is a little short for a rifle with recoil (even thou 308 isn't a hard recoiling caliber).
This scope is going onto a 223 shortly.

The only gripe I have is battery life, and it's not mueller's fault. I find it goes dead when I leave the damn thing turned on in the gun safe.:slap:

I have an 8.5-25 on my 223 as well and it has been hell on coyotes.

I use the 4.5-14X40APV on my 270. It has a wider field of view and much more eye relief. If anything it is clearer than the higher magnification scope. I'm sure I'll own more of these in the future.

I recently bought the silver APV Mueller from phil at Whitefalls. Great guy to deal with. I have it mounted on my swede and did some sighting in shots with it, just to see how well it worked. Was not able to do a box test with it as I didn't have enough ammo with me. The scope itself seemed as clear if not better than a
2x7x32 bushnell elite that I had for comparison. At higher magnification it did seem to get a fuzzy ring around the edge, but nothing to be concerned with. I didn't have any problems with finding a sweet spot for my eye, and was able to move my head around substantially without losing the sight picture. Decent scope for the price in my opinion.

7.62mm

I have two, one was used for last year's hunting on a .338 WM and was just fine, the other on a CZ452 in 22Rimfire-unreal performance. Noted that Phil from Whitefalls said the APV was not to be used on a Magnum but my hunting buddy and I have used them to no problem. I am a bit worried in that he stated that if they were used on a magnum the warranty would be void. Karl

Which model are you considering for the .280?

The APV or the Tac2 would both work very well on it, but there are many other models that would handle it just fine as well. The Tac2 would be considered the top end model IMHO.

my friends fell apart on him right away but it has a lifetime warranty so they gave him a new one and ever since it's been working really good. he must of just got the one unlucky one

How do they compare to Leupold's or Bushnell Elites? I have always been curious about these scopes and as I heard the saying" Buy expensive once, but cheap twice" I am not sure how it applies here!

My APV certainly matches the performance of an elite 3200 series, maybe exceeds it. The Tac2 is supposed to be similar in quality to the Loopy's, but I haven't tried that model. The Muellers have a limitted lifetime warranty.

Foxer and bonecollector did a review on them which I believe is still available from a link on the Mueller site. Definitely a good read if you are considering this line of scopes.

How do they compare to a leupold? I have a Stevens 200 with Mueller scope that shoots sub half moa groups, (.391" last time out) and the complete rifle cost me less than the price of many Leupolds.

You can add me to the list of pleased 4.5-14x40 APV owners. I can report that it has great optical clarity, very sharp image at all levels of magnification, nice to see .223 holes in white paper at 200 yards. It adjusted easily to zero. So far, I'm liking it a lot. If it proves durable, I'd say its one hell of a buy.
